The Enterprise Cloud: Changing Business Applications

pcmag.com — July 27 2010 — NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson spoke at a Fortune Brainstorm Tech round table on "The Enterprise Cloud". With panelists from companies involved in SaaS, he remarked that companies like his were once somewhat obscure, but are now becoming mainstream — that firms are now realizing the benefits of cloud computing for more complicated tasks and customization. He also noted that a lack of investment in on-premise applications has bolstered the shift to cloud computing, reducing upfront costs and increasing productivity. An additional benefit is that on the cloud there is only one version of the software — the latest one.
